The Mirrored Teardrop

By: Tammy Lynn Robinson

April 27, 1998

The little fairie, soft and kind,

Knew what happened, she read your mind.

"Now I wonder why they act like this?" She mimicked with her

whistling lips.

"I can not understand this..."

"These things they say and do...."

"Why do they scream in hatred...."

"Till someone's hurt so through and through????"

She flies up through the valley,

To begin her hardstrong task.

She's sure she knows just how to do this,

But she's not sure it will last.

She opens up her trunk to grab her magick lore,

She opens up the section "When two hearts seem as torn"....

She excitedly reads on and on,

Until she finds the spell,

It's here she'll find the answer

To humans lifelong quells.

She knows.

She grabs her favorite powder,

Seals it with her kiss.

Whispers how she loves us,

Then blows it like the mist.

It fell upon the bodies,

Of the two hearts torn in love.

Still they looked so angry,

All she heard were screams and shouts.

"Now why are they still angry?"

She sullenly cried out....

"I was sure I knew the answer"

Tears dripped as she began to pout.

Now would you know this tear,

This lonely, silver, falling mirror,

Was honest?

It dropped to the ground....

Though there seemed like no sound....

The hearts seemed to listen,

As eyes start to glisten.

They wondered why they had to cry,

Before they understood,

That no matter what they say or did,

They shouldn't be so crude.

They learned then how they need to talk,

To discuss and live and learn.

Soon forgot the hatred and

Their souls began to yearn.

The fairie seen them sparkle,

As the tear puffed into dust.

Her face it shined so sweetly,

For she knew that love was "just".

She had to write this story,

For she had to let you know.

That you have to stop this fighting,

Or your family cannot grow.

She knows it isn't easy,

You can't just pass a test.

But if you REALLY try this,

This love can be the best.

Two people have to really care,

And learn to live and share.

It isn't just the money,

Nor bills, nor kids, nor dares...

You have to learn, to understand...

The meaning in the heart,

And if you share about this,

It can mean a whole new start.

And if you learn to listen,

Intent to not be hard...

No longer will you hear what's bitter...

So, no hearts will then be scarred.

You will live a life of happiness,

Because the spell had told her more.

It would whisk you through eternity,

Where the rainbows shine and soar

Fools don't choose to listen,

To this charming little lore,

Because they can't get past their anger,

Their heart may still be torn.

"I know you have this magick too"

The fairie blows a kiss.

"You know I'll always love you"

Her eye's are one big mist.
